First of all: When should you change the diaper? In the first three months of life, when the skin is even more sensitive, ideally it should be changed whenever it is soiled, with pee or poop. Changing mat or cloth for the baby to lie on; Clean diaper; Small container with warm water; Towel or cloth diaper; Cotton pads; Diaper rash cream; Trash bag. Step-by-step guide to changing a diaper: 1) CLEANING Wash your hands; Lay the baby down; Remove clothing only from the waist down; Open the diaper and lift the baby's bottom, holding them by the ankles; Remove the feces from the bottom using the clean part of the soiled diaper, in a single motion, from top to bottom; Leave the diaper folded in half, under the baby, with the clean part facing up; Clean the genital area with cotton and warm water, in a single motion, from the genitals towards the anus, without reusing the cotton; Dry the area with a towel or cloth diaper. 2) PUTTING ON THE CLEAN DIAPER Position the clean, open diaper under the baby's bottom; Apply diaper rash cream, if necessary; Close the diaper, securing both sides with the adhesive tapes, leaving it below the umbilical stump if the baby still has one; Dress the baby from the waist down; Wash your hands again.
