I got a body type analysis to improve my style

I wanted to know if dressing for your body shape REALLY matters, and how exactly dressing for your body type can improve your personal style. I get a comment almost DAILY telling me that I either "don't know how to dress for my body shape" or instructing me that I "should dress for my body type", and I wanted to know more about what this all means.
