Commandos parachutistes: Prêts pour l'impossible

A prestigious elite unit of the French Army, the 11th Parachute Brigade comprises 7,500 soldiers from eight regiments based in southwestern France and Corsica. Among them are specialists in air combat and air assault, who can be deployed day and night around the world to manage crisis situations. They are followed during their operations in Mali. From their base in Gao, Colonel de Monicault's 120 paratroopers are ready to engage in combat in the Liptako region of eastern Mali, plagued by widespread trafficking and ethnic conflict. At the forward operating base in Ménaka, the soldiers must be resourceful to remain operational and maintain morale. 00:00 High-risk mission: nighttime commando drop in Mali 04:11 Historical overview and missions of the 11th Parachute Brigade 06:48 Preparation of the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2e REP) legionnaires for vertical assault 11:05 Boxing and extreme physical conditioning of the commandos in Gao 16:45 Strategy and surveillance drones for Operation Barkhane 22:39 Immersive sequence of the parachute drop of 80 legionnaires 29:26 Contact patrol and security operation in the city of Ménaka 34:11 Training and first jump of recruits at the Pau school 40:11 Spectacular landing of the A400M on a sandy runway 48:54 Nighttime infiltration and ambush to capture a jihadist leader
