GUMRAG: Mising Folk Dance ||Dhakuakhana Town Gumrag Team ||State Ali-A:yé-Lígang 2021 || Dhakuakhana

The first prize winning Gumrag dance performance by the Dhakuakhana Town Gumraag Team in the Gumraag Competition held in connection with Central State Ali-A:yé-Ligang 2021, organised by Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Assam at Bakulguri, Dhakuakhana on 17th February, 2021. The team received a cash prize of amount 60,000.00 in the event. Before joining the competition, the team undergone a week-long training session under Mising Dírbí Kébang with collaboration with Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Assam. N:B: Gumrag dance is the main folk dance of Mising community perform in Ali-A:yé-Ligang which is dance to the tune of folk songs and melodious 'oi: nitom'. This dance is performed by encircling in the courtyard of Mírong Okum or individual's house.
