Gladiolus Rag (Scott Joplin, 1907) - played by Victor Beck
Gladiolus Rag, a rag that symbolizes Joplin's sophisticated 'slow march tempo' ragtime style. At first, this piece was despised by Joplin's publisher at the time, John Stark, for being so similar to Maple Leaf Rag, and it gave him a false sign that Joplin had run out of creativity. Nevertheless, I think this piece shows abundant ingenuity on Joplin's part and regard it as one of his better works. Please comment, like, and/or subscribe if you liked the video.
