How To Accompany Irish Music - Traditional Jig Strumming

In this lesson, we cover how to accompany Irish music using a traditional jig strumming pattern. Here's my other jig strumming tutorial:    • How To Back Jigs - Irish Strumming Technique   Firstly we learn the "double down" stum, then we practice it at various tempos. Then we move on to emphasizing different beats within the strum to get a groove going. Finally, we practice that strum to a tune. The tune is called "The Haunted House" and is played on the whistle by my dad, Mick Coyne. He's a renowned uilleann piper and here's a great example of him playing on national TV -    • Mick Coyne Reels   You can watch the short video tutorial here:    • How To Play Irish Guitar: Jig Strumming Pa...   ▶ Get your Free DADGAD Guitar Cheat Sheet here: https://iga.sale/dadgad-cheat ▶Subscribe to Aodán Coyne - DADGAD Guitar: http://bit.ly/aodansub ▶Aodán's DADGAD Guitar Course: https://iga.sale/jumpstart ▶ Follow Aodán:   / aodancoyne     / aodancoyne     / aodancoyne   #dadgad #dadgadguitar #irishguitar 🎸 Gear I Use & Recommend: 🎤 My Essential Guitar & Live Performance Gear: https://aodancoyne.com/my-gear 🎛️ My Studio & Recording Setup: http://aodancoyne.com/my-studio (Some links are affiliate links.
