ARCHI URBAIN (20/34) : Expérimentation et transformation durable de la ville existante

During April 2026, Archi Urbain offered two programs dedicated to the LaboNord workshop, organized as part of the Pedagogical Innovation Week at the ULB La Cambre-Horta Faculty of Architecture. After looking back at the 2025 edition, we now focus on the 2026 edition with Picnic, a project led by Élise Duchêne, which continues a reflection with students on the picnic: a simple, collective, and convivial moment, but also a way to question our uses of space, our ways of gathering, and the forms of hospitality that architecture can make possible. In the second part of the program, Mister Emma takes you to discover The Arch, formerly NOR05, in the heart of the North district of Brussels. Renovated by B2Ai for Corès Development, before being taken over by Crelan, this project exemplifies a new generation of commercial building renovations: preservation of the existing structure, reuse of materials, low-carbon materials, geothermal energy, and blue roofs dedicated to water management. This project is presented by Vincent Debloudts (Project Manager – CORES Development), Caroline Beauvois (Spokesperson – CRELAN), Barbara Wolff (Architect Partner – B2Ai Architects), and Sunita Van Heers (Founder – SuReal). A program combining education, experimentation, and the sustainable transformation of the existing city.
