SOUTH TYROL SPECIAL | This tour takes you along winding, relaxed roads through the municipality of Eppan in South Tyrol. The tour begins with a visit to the majestic Sigmundskron Castle. This ancient castle complex stands at the northern end of the Mitterberg mountain, overlooking the rooftops of Bolzano, and is now home to one of the Messner Mountain Museums. Impressed by the impressive interweaving of Alpine and Asian mountain landscapes, we hop back on our bikes and begin the beautiful climb to the beautifully situated Montiggler Lakes. Perfectly shaded paths lead us to popular excursion destinations, which are perfect for a swim in the hot summer months. Afterwards, we descend through apple orchards and vineyards to St. Michael, with its old alleys and the well-kept village square, which invites you to stop for a bite to eat. Vineyards and fantastic views of Bolzano and the foothills of the Dolomites accompany us on our way to St. Pauls. Here stands one of the masterpieces of South Tyrolean sacred art, the 85-meter-high "Cathedral in the Country." With a gently sloping ride along the former Überetsch Railway line, we return and conclude this enjoyable tour. Come along and see how beautiful it is there!
