4K Copenhagen 🇩🇰 : The World Capital of Architecture

In the 1st episode of our "Summer Travel to the Arctic" we invite you to take a walk in the World Capital of Architecture 2023-2025 - the city of Copenhagen (Denmark). We will explore two newly completed great projects: The Opera Park (2023) and The Paper Island (2024) both designed by the renowned Danish architectural studio COBE. The Opera Park (Operaparken) is a public space situated on the Copenhagen harbour front. It is a green oasis covering 21,500 square meters and featuring a rich array of trees, bushes, plants, and flowers. It includs greenhouse with café, a covered pedestrian bridge, and underground parking facility for up to 300 cars. The park constitute s a sustainable and economical cycle: rainwater is reused for watering plants and the income from the parking helps finance the park's operations and maintenance. The Paper Island (Papirøen) is a project of transformation of the former industrial site previously dedicated to paper storage into a new vibrand district wich design is based on the re-imagination of the unique spirit of the place. “Paper Island is an example of how Copenhagen is transforming from an industrial city to a place for people,” - COBE.
