Kestner, King of Dollmakers: The Wax Dolls
Among the values of the Kestner firm was a continuing interest in new products and new markets. Thus it's not surprising that in addition to better-known offerings such as china and bisque dolls, the Kestner firm produced wax dolls. These high-end luxury dolls were fragile, so it's likely that not only were fewer produced, fewer survived. But survivors clearly show Kestner characteristics. #antiquedoll #dollcollecting #dollhistory
