When one day appears before Allah, a believer should not only remember the suffering of his life, but also realize how great the gifts Allah has bestowed him from birth until the end of his life. Remembering God's blessings is part of gratitude, while gratitude is a way to get to know God more closely. 📖 Allah Ta'ala says: وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ "And of the favors of your Lord, then tell me." (QS. Ad-Dhuha: 11) This verse establishes the principle that mentioning and speaking about Allah's blessings is not arrogance, as long as the purpose is to express gratitude and acknowledge His bounty. 📚 Imam Al-Ghazali explains in Ihya' Ulumiddin that gratitude for blessings is not only done with the heart, but also with the tongue, namely by mentioning and expressing Allah's blessings as a form of acknowledgment of Him. God bless you بِالتَّحْمِيدِ "Verbal thanksgiving means showing favor by praising Allah." (Ihya' Ulumiddin, Book of Ash-Shukr) 📚 Imam Ibn 'Athaillah As-Sakandari also said: مَنْ لَمْ يَشْكُرِ النِّعَمَ فَقَدْ تَعَرَّضَ لِزَوَالِهَا "Whoever is not grateful for blessings, then he has paved the way for the loss of those blessings." (Al-Hikam Al-'Atha'iyyah) Therefore, a believer should get used to seeing the delicious side of his life. Health, family, faith, opportunities to worship, knowledge, and various goodness that are often considered ordinary are actually great gifts from Allah SWT.
