#asmrpagesqueezing For many of us, today is the official first day of summer (yay!). Let's celebrate by slightly raising the volume and adding some page squeezing to our page turning. The object of this ASMR Page Squeezing video is the richly illustrated book "Human" (in Dutch: "Mensen"), which presents in a beautiful way the characteristics we all share as human beings. I was very lucky to find this book at a library book sale. If the ASMR experience for you is triggered by the sound of pages firmly being pressed, this video will gently transport you to the zone, a relaxed state where you feel peaceful, in the moment and maybe even mildly euphoric. Some researchers describe this state as natural self-healing where your brain lets go of stress and produces neurochemicals that act like serotonin and dopamine and make us feel goooooooood. 🙃 Page squeezing reminds me how, as a child, I would always carry a blanket with me up to my room and rub the edges of it between my thumb and finger until my brain shut down. It was calming and comforting (or maybe just early-onset OCD?). I hope you'll enjoy this video. Page squeezing rubs some people the wrong way and I totally understand. We all have our preferences.
