Autism with Kaelynn Partlow & Dr. Temple Grandin

Two Autistic Advocates, One Honest Conversation from Different Generations Dr. Temple Grandin is an autistic author, speaker, professor of animal science at Colorado State University, and one of the most widely recognized voices in both autism advocacy and animal behavior. She was diagnosed with autism in early childhood, at a time when autism was often deeply misunderstood and institutionalization was commonly recommended. And I’m Kaelynn Partlow, an autistic therapist, author, speaker, and advocate. I was diagnosed with autism at age 10, and much of my work focuses on helping people better understand autism through both lived experience and professional experience. In this conversation, we talk about autism, advocacy, independence, work, and what it means to help autistic people build meaningful lives. We don't see everything the same way, and that is part of what makes the conversation important. Advocacy is shaped by different generations, different support needs, different life experiences, and different ways of understanding the world. Thank you to Dr. Grandin for joining me for this conversation! Learn more about the Temple Grandin Equine Center here: https://agsci.colostate.edu/tgec/
