The MAM Journals- Is the new Suzuki 800DE better than my 650XT?

I have been looking forward to riding the new VStrom 800DE since it appeared at the motorcycle show at the end of last year . A more powerful, and physically bigger bike than my 21 registered 650, how did I get on ? What do I make of the new Quick Shifter ? What is it like to ride on 'normal' roads, in traffic, and on dual carriageways? Although not a direct comparison test , I inevitably use my 650 as my baseline . With a significantly more powerful, new, 776cc, parallel twin engine my friends were lining up to ask the question, "So, is it better than your 650XT?"
