Full Movie: Veteran Found a Starving Girl in His Ruined Home, Then It Burned With Her Inside After many years away from his hometown, A Minh, a former soldier, finally returns to his small mountain village in Northeast Vietnam. He hopes to rebuild his life from the beginning, starting with the old family house his parents left behind. But when he arrives, the house is almost destroyed. The roof is broken, the walls are falling apart, the kitchen is cold, and the yard is covered with wild grass. A Minh thinks he has returned to an empty and forgotten home. Then he discovers something unexpected inside. A lonely little girl named May has been secretly living in the ruined house. She is hungry, frightened, and has nowhere safe to go. Her only close companion is a small teddy bear she loves deeply. Instead of chasing her away, A Minh gives her food, protects her, and allows her to stay. From that moment, two broken lives begin to change. A Minh tries to clean the old house, cook simple meals, repair the roof, raise the Vietnamese flag, and create a safe place for May. For the first time in a long time, May begins to feel that someone cares about her. But peace does not last long. Pao, a man in the village, does not want A Minh to stay on the land. He also wants May gone because she is an outsider. When things go missing in the village, Pao uses the fear of the villagers to blame May, even though there is no proof. Soon, the whole village turns against the little girl. They accuse her of stealing. They come to A Minh’s ruined home. They try to chase her away and even attempt to destroy the house where she and A Minh are trying to start over. A Minh stands in front of May and refuses to abandon her. But the danger becomes worse. While A Minh goes out to catch food for them, May stays alone in the house. She draws a picture of herself, Uncle Minh, and her beloved teddy bear. She begins to worry that if she stays, A Minh will continue to suffer because of her. Then smoke rises from the house. A fire starts. May escapes with her small backpack, but suddenly remembers that her teddy bear is still inside — the most precious thing left from her painful past. She runs back into the burning house. The smoke becomes too thick. A Minh sees the black smoke from far away and runs home, shouting May’s name. But will he get there in time?
