How Hundred House Engineered a Custom Rehearsal Facility for Super Bowl LX

What does it take to support preparations for one of the world's biggest sporting events? For Super Bowl LX, Hundred House was selected to help construct a temporary rehearsal facility in Santa Clara, California. While the structure itself was temporary, the engineering challenge was unlike anything our team had encountered before. The facility needed to span an active soccer field without penetrating the playing surface. Traditional anchoring methods were not an option, and the client requested that all ballast and support infrastructure remain outside the field. There was no existing system designed to accomplish this. Working alongside structural engineers, Hundred House developed a first-of-its-kind solution featuring custom-engineered truss connections, specialized base plates, and 16,000-pound ballast systems positioned beyond the field perimeter. The result: • Approximately 60,000 square feet of temporary structure • Less than 500 square feet of contact with the playing surface • 16 crew members • 21 truckloads of materials • 6 days of installation • Delivered on schedule and approved by the NFL and the City of Santa Clara This case study highlights the engineering, fabrication, logistics, and collaboration required to solve a complex infrastructure challenge while protecting the integrity of the field. At Hundred House, we believe successful event infrastructure is about more than equipment. It's about understanding challenges, engineering solutions, and executing with precision.
