Navigating Native Plants
Most of the time, native plants don’t freak out about whatever Texas weather throws at them. Plants may hunker down or not perform to our expectations in extended drought and freeze, but eventually they rally to collaborate with wildlife. Still, we’ve got to recognize their soil and light needs. And it’s okay to pair them with adapted and family favorites! Find out what “native plant” really means, ideas for perennials and annuals for sun and shade (and what that means) with John Hart Asher and Andrea DeLong-Amaya from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
