J'entends siffler le train(500 miles) Richard Anthony

Richard Anthony's number one hit was recorded in 1962, the French interpretation of the English song 500 miles which had been released by the Journeymen, an American folk trio. The guitar accompaniment echoes their banjo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cgQJ... Everything seemed to come together perfectly on the French recording, which became Richard Anthony's signature song and topped the French popular music hall of fame. It has been covered innumerable times since by many country artists. Special thanks to Gordon for the black and white scenes which were shot not in France but on the Wolsztyn steam railway in Poland.
