UniFi PoE Doorbell + Mechanical Chime (No Home Assistant)

In this video, I show how to use a UniFi PoE Doorbell with a proper mechanical doorbell chime, without Home Assistant, without a Raspberry Pi, and without relying on the cloud. If you’ve installed a UniFi PoE Doorbell and found the UniFi chime too quiet for your home, this setup lets you trigger an existing mechanical chime using UniFi Protect Alarm Manager webhooks and a Shelly relay. I walk through: • Installing the Shelly device • Configuring a Shelly script to act like a doorbell button • Creating a UniFi Protect Alarm Manager webhook • Testing the setup end-to-end with a mechanical chime This approach keeps everything local, simple, and installer-friendly, making it ideal for residential and small business installs where a loud, traditional doorbell chime is still preferred. ⚠️ This video focuses on the Shelly installation, configuration, and testing.
