#46: understanding the AMP1 custom controls! PLUS playing with an orchestra, Thomas Blug style: On this week’s Academy Of Tone, Thomas and Rich look in detail at the Custom Controls on AMP1 Mercury Edition and Iridium Edition. What do the Custom Controls actually do? What was Thomas’s philosophy behind the concept? Why are the Classic settings different on the Mercury and Iridium amps? And how are the Custom Controls different from standard tone controls? We’ll answer all that and more, take your questions and Thomas will A/B the AMP1 Custom Controls against the tone control options on some other classic and modern amps! Plus, Thomas shares his experiences on playing with a full orchestra, a feat he’s pulled off on numerous occasions now!
