PHIL COLLINS THE ROOF IS LEAKING Redone instrumental by Aad Huf June 2026

This time i wanted to redo a beautifull song from Phil Collins, "The roof is leaking". Like always i made an instrumental from it. Phil's full name is Philip David Charles Collins, born Januari 30 1951 in West London. "The Roof Is Leaking" has Delta blues and country elements. This song comes from Phil Collins his 1st solo album "Face Value", wich was released on February 13th 1981. The album peaked at nr.1 in a lot of countries around the world. This song is one of the most beautifull songs from this album in my opinion and thats why i chose it. I have redone the album in my DAW Fender Studio Pro 8 and worked it out with the following instruments and virtual synthesizers: 1 track with a recording of crickets, wich i recorded myself from a youtube film about crickets; 2 tracks a grand piano made in the VSTi Sampletank 4, wich plays part of the melody; 2 tracks a grand piano made in the VSTi Sampletank 4, wich plays different part of the melody and plays the lower piano tones, different and altered preset used for this; 2 tracks Steel string guitar, made with the VSTi Sampletank 4, plays a little bit panned to the right; 1 track overdive guitar, made with the VSTi Nexus 5, plays a little bit panned to the left; 1 track Banjo, made with the VSTi Sampletank 4; 1 track Atmospheric Pad, wich lies underneath the song as a dark distant layer, made with the VSTi Omnisphere; 1 track Vocoder Choir, wich is also a bit of filling for the song, made with the VSTi Omnisphere; 2 tracks a synthesizer bell Pad like instrument, made with the VSTi Nexus 5; 1 track Electric Piano wich (together layered with the previuos 4 tracks) plays the zung voice of Phil Collins, made with the VSTi Nexus 5; 1 track Acoustic Bass to have more basis in the song, made with the VSTi Nexus 5; 1 track representic thunder in the end of the song, played by a Timpani, made with the VSTi Sampletank 4; 1 track a recording i made from a youtube film with the sound of rain at the end of the song. All the above 17 tracks build up this song. No drums or percussion in this song. The extra Bass i made myself and is not in the original song. Also the pads and synthesizer sounds are not in the original song. The original song consists only of Piano, Banjo, Steel guitar, overdriven guitar and nothing more.
