Living the Boat Life in Fowey, Cornwall 🚤 | 3 Day Weekend Boating Vlog

Welcome to my 1-hour episode of our 3-Day Boating Adventure in Fowey. A picturesque, historic town and deep-water port in South Cornwall, England, situated on the Fowey Estuary in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — an unforgettable weekend exploring the Cornish coast with friends, stunning scenery, great food, and plenty of time on the water. Thursday Evening - The adventure began with the drive down from Gloucestershire to Fowey, where I met Anthony halfway through the journey so we could convoy down together. After arriving in Fowey late in the evening, we slept in the cars ready for an early start the next morning, taking advantage of the high tide and an empty slipway. Friday Morning - The boats were launched at Caffa Mill Slipway before the cars and trailers were parked up at Old Station Road car park. From there, we boated across to Penmarlam Marine to meet the rest of the group launching from the opposite side of the river. Once everyone was on the water and settled in, we grabbed breakfast from Penmarlam Quay Cafe to fuel up for the day ahead. Friday Afternoon - Our first big trip was across to Lantic Bay, where I flew the drone and captured some incredible footage and photos of the bay and the boats in our group. Afterwards, we headed back to the marina where the boats would be moored for the weekend, and a few of us checked into the lodge at Penmarlam Lodge Retreat. Friday Evening - That evening, we took the boats over to Fowey for food, drinks, and a relaxed evening around the harbour. Saturday Morning & Afternoon - We started the day with breakfast at the café before heading out on the boats towards The Gwineas to explore the rocks and coastline. From there, we travelled along the coast towards Gorran Haven, stopping for a break and plenty of photos along the way. Our next destination was Mevagissey Harbour for a well-earned cream Scone and ice cream. We spent some time exploring the harbour and the narrow streets of the town before heading back across the water towards Fowey. Saturday Evening We had a meal booked for 7pm, so we were ferried back over to Fowey from Penmarlam by boat to enjoy another great evening of food and drinks with the group. Sunday Morning Sunday started with a relaxed trip exploring the beautiful River Fowey before another run over to Mevagissey — this time for some legendary cheesy chips. Thankfully, the weather was much kinder to us that day, making for the perfect final day on the water. Sunday Evening After an amazing weekend, it was time to recover the boats, pack everything away, and begin the journey home.
