KX 500 VMXDN Build 2026! - THIS THING IS ROUGH!

Join us as we tackle this 1992 KX500! Sure, it might not win any beauty contests, but we’re diving in to restore it to its former glory. With more parts destined for the scrap heap than we’d like, it’s going to be a challenge. I’ll reveal the key signs to look for if you’re hoping to salvage a pair of forks and share insights on determining when they’ve reached the end of the road. As always, we’re not just focusing on one bike; we’ve got two projects on the go! The second one is a box of bits that I thought was packed with parts, but reality tells a different story. Can we salvage a KX 500 from this mix? Our last KX500 build was for Tyler Bowers to race at VMXdN, and with more 500s expected this time around as VMXdN moves to Hawkstone, I can’t wait to hear that glorious roar up Hawkstone Hill! But that’s not all—I’ve got a special project in the works: the KX 85 Shift Cart. Post two-stroke era, it’s rocking some Pro Circuit pipes. It needs a touch of TLC, but I’m excited to bring it back to life to hang on the new garage wall. Plus, the KX 500 rear chain guide blocks are back in stock after a six-month hiatus! We’ll take you through the production process. In future episodes, we’ll keep you updated on our progress on the KX500 builds. Also, make sure you are following the VMXdN Hawkstone and Farleigh Castle Vets MX social pages, as there is a lot of exciting stuff coming up on the events side.
