Urban based Tūhoe re-connect with their culture, traditions, identity and past in Te Urewera
As Māori we learn our pepeha (iwi identity) when we’re young. But how many of us have actually climbed our maunga (mountain) or swam in our awa(river)? Well, a group of young Tūhoe did just that, they went home to reconnect with Te Urewera. Kereama Wright and Camera/Editor Norton Isaacs followed them on their journey of re-discovery.
