As a new owner-operator with my own authority, I faced extremely low freight rates, high operating expenses, slow weeks, and many challenges that made me question whether buying my own truck was the right decision. At one point, I almost sold my truck and went back to being a company driver. However, I continued learning, improving my strategy, booking my own loads, negotiating better rates, and finding ways to stay profitable even when the trucking market was struggling. I also share how I was able to overcome those challenges and still find success in the trucking industry as an owner-operator with my own MC and DOT authority.
