Playa la Esperanza is located about an hour west of San Juan right outside the town of Manatí. It’s actually inside of an expansive nature preserve that includes a visitor center inside an old sugar plantation. The long beach to the left of the swimming area provides a rugged contrast to the protected cove. This beach is covered in colorful smooth stones and even has patches of black sand.
