Casa moderna de estuco y microcemento | Obras Ajenas | Arquitectos AJ

Hello everyone! Welcome to Oaxaca to see Casa Alba, one of the latest projects by AJ Architects. This house combines stucco with mineral pigments in earthy tones and black microcement, achieving a warm, elegant texture that is resistant to the climate of southern Mexico. Designed for sale, it was conceived to appeal to a wide range of tastes without sacrificing its architectural character. The architects took the Oaxacan sun as their starting point: they oriented all the main spaces—living room, dining room, and kitchen—towards the north, ensuring constant coolness. The result is a well-ventilated, bright, and functional house that takes advantage of cross-ventilation and dry gardens, also designed to address water scarcity. Upstairs, the north- and east-facing bedrooms enjoy gentle light and mountain views, while the pigmented south-facing walls act as sunshades. The master bedroom, measuring almost 5 x 5 meters, opens completely to the landscape and features a walk-in closet and a bathroom with natural ventilation.
