Reminds us of the very popular Crochet Scales (looks like snake or dragon scales) but in a Knitting version. This is what you get when you continue with a knitting decorative edge. //// Instructions Roof Tiles Knitting Pattern Multiple of 8 plus 6. 16 row repeat. Use the needles that the yarn calls for. I used #4 yarn and #8 US needles for the video. Cast on your stitches. I used the long tail (butterfly) cast on. Repeat from * to * Row 1.- Purl Row 2.- Knit Row 3.- *knit 6, pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the front, to the right needle*, knit the last 6 stitches. Row 4.- *purl 6, pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the back, to the right needle*, purl the last 6 stitches. Row 5.- Same as Row 3: *knit 6, pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the front, to the right needle*, knit the last 6 stitches. Row 6.- Same as Row 4: *purl 6, pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the back, to the right needle*, purl the last 6 stitches. Row 7.- Same as Row 3 and 5: *knit 6, pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the front, to the right needle*, knit the last 6 stitches. Row 8.- Purl Row 9.- Purl Row 10.- Knit Row 11.- knit 2, *pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the front, to the right needle*, knit 6*. Finish row (last 4 stitches) with pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the front, to the right needle and knit 2. Row 12.- purl 2, *pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the back, to the right needle, purl 6*, Finish row (last 4 stitches) with pass 2 stitches (without knitting), purl-wise, with the yarn in the back, to the right needle and purl 2.
