Have you ever wondered if soil could hold clues about the presence of minerals beneath the surface? In this video, we from Geological Technology 2024 Class A discuss the results of processing soil geochemical data in the West Sumatra region. This area was chosen because of its interesting geological conditions, particularly the influence of magmatic and hydrothermal activity, which has the potential to form mineral deposits. From the available data, an analysis was conducted to examine the distribution patterns of elements and the relationships between them that emerged in the study area. The results were then visualized in the form of a geochemical anomaly map, making it easier to interpret and use as a basis for exploration activities. Through this video, we want to demonstrate how geochemical data, initially simply numerical, can be processed into useful information to identify areas with potential mineralization, including those associated with gold deposits.
