IMC has laid out plans to deal with immigration: Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma weighs in

Government's Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration has briefed the media on progress in implementing measures aimed at strengthening immigration control, border management, and documentation systems. The briefing follows President Cyril Ramaphosa's recent remarks outlining government's approach to migration — balancing stricter immigration enforcement with constitutional obligations, the rule of law, and due process. During the briefing, government emphasised that while public concern around migration is acknowledged, all protests must remain within the confines of the law. Officials also warned that any damage to property or infrastructure will be attributed to organisers, and cautioned against illegal practices such as civilians conducting so-called "ID checks", stressing that only the state has the authority to verify identity. For reaction, we are joined by Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, leader of the March and March Movement. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
