Ella, Eternal: Marilyn Maye Performs an Ella Fitzgerald Medley
WNYC’s Julian Fleisher hosted a celebration of Ella Fitzgerald’s centennial birthday with the help of nine-time Grammy Award winner Janis Siegel and The Harlem School of the Arts' Dorothy Maynor Singers. They performed some of their favorite songs and discussed her influence and legacy over the last 100 years, live at The Greene Space at WNYC. Here, cabaret singer Marilyn Maye sings a medley with "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," "Ain't Misbehavin'," and "Honeysuckle Rose." With Tedd Firth on piano.
