✈ Llegué a RÍO GALLEGOS 🎊 Capital de SANTA CRUZ || TIERRA DE OPORTUNIDADES 🎊 Patagonia 🇦🇷
Hello, I'm Juan Carlos Parengo. And I want to tell you that in this episode we're going to learn about the history of Río Gallegos, the capital of the province of Santa Cruz, and see for ourselves that it truly is a Land of Opportunities. The city's modern airport welcomes me to this century-old city. I'll begin by showing you the Río Gallegos coat of arms and tell you the fascinating story behind it. It features the image of the first Argentine Navy ship that brought the remains of San Martín from France to Argentina. That's why we're going to visit Plaza San Martín, located in the heart of the city. It's a beautiful square with the highest concentration of trees in the entire city, and it's a place enjoyed by all the people of Santa Cruz. I'm surprised to see changes like the recently created artificial lake in this square; this is an evolution, it represents the growth of the area. We headed to the Río Gallegos Cathedral, Our Lady of Luján. It was the first parish church in all of Patagonia to hold a Mass there, back in 1899, and is now a National Historic Monument. Built of wood and sheet metal, its nave is in the shape of a cross. So many stories must have unfolded in this place, a place that played a significant role in the history of this region. On the waterfront, there's a monument to the pilots who died in the Falklands War. Being there is incredibly powerful, thinking that just a few meters away, out to sea, lie these islands. I decided to honor them with a concert. From the Río Gallegos Estuary, I want to share that this is a very special place, known as the Río Gallegos Estuary. Instead of being a meeting point, this estuary flows into the Atlantic Ocean. This site is strategic, and it was essential to rest here. Seeing the structures of the old port, I can't help but imagine all the people who worked here, all the pioneers who came to settle this place, and the ships that disembarked here. This place is absolutely beautiful and truly a place to enjoy. 🎥 I want you to know that it's very important to me that you subscribe and turn on notifications, and if you liked it, please click "like" 👍 👋 Thank you for sharing this video.
