In Expedition Northwest Passage, players attempt to traverse the northern Canadian archipelago, trying to reach the other side — and preferably back again! Tiles show land, water and features that can be explored for points. As the year progresses, the ice will creep southward, potentially trapping your ship. Consider putting out your sled, but mind it doesn't get left stranded! This board game, designed by Yves Tourigny and published by Matagot in 2013, is a wonderful combination of intuitive mechanisms and evocative setting, and the subdued art presentation brings the whole thing home.
