The Self-Build House - Episode 35: On our second floor, we opted for a cold roof construction out of necessity. This means the insulation is placed underneath our roof structure. We're insulating between the rafters of the pitched roof and between the beams of our flat section, allowing us to install the vapor barrier in a single, continuous layer.
