Sawing 2 Cedar logs. Full speed. Sawmill sound. (Norwood HD36 sawmill)
In this video I’m sawing up two cedar logs on my Norwood hd36 with full speed and all the sound. Watch the process of how I mill logs. I like to saw with the small end of the log towards the start end of the mill. That way if there is any taper in the log I can use my roller-toe-boards to level the log with its center to get straighter, higher quality lumber, and get the most out of the log. I also sometimes will slab opposite sides of the log to make it easier to square for the third slab cut. Then if there are and Boards to edge or (flitches) I edge those down before finishing the cant, that way I have a nice solid back to clamp boards against. Then I also like to use a board to clamp my flitches when I can to give them a secure clamp all the way along.
