Palm Canyon is home to one of Arizona’s few native populations of California fan palms, thriving in a narrow, sheltered canyon where water collects just enough to support them. Surrounded by steep rock faces and desert terrain, the contrast is striking—and part of what makes this location so unique. Reaching Palm Canyon involves a short but rugged hike into the canyon itself, where the palms gradually come into view above you. Along the way, you’re treated to sweeping desert views, dramatic geology, and a sense of isolation that defines this part of western Arizona.
