Tata Güines solo: La Mulata Rumbera
One of my all time favorite solos. The sound of the first three slaps in the solo section is an attention getter. The artful phrasing utilizes a beautiful combination of percussive colors and tones woven into compelling melodic lines. A masterpiece. Tata Güines has influenced many congueros. A comparison with the solo by Bill Fitch on Insight is a clear example. Enjoy
