The increasingly dire statistics on the number of suicides, combined with President Mattarella's warning, should push the government to act on the issue of prisons. Instead, today Minister Nordio confirmed the executive's pro-justice bias, equating early release with incitement to crime, without adopting structural measures to address prison overcrowding and restore our Constitution to Italian prisons.
