Every team starts out 0-0 and experiences their own ups and downs through the course of 162 games. The 2005 White Sox started the season hot, winning a lot of 1-run or 2-run games. The team hit a skid when they lost Frank Thomas to injury in July and continued into August. Later in the season, A.J. Pierzynski, Aaron Rowand and Joe Crede were out in Baltimore when the "Don't Stop Believin'" rally cry started out as an inside joke between the three players. The story slowly spread in the clubhouse. Once the fans and media heard, "Don't Stop Believin'" turned into a full rally cry. And the team needed it with Cleveland closing in. The White Sox finished 99-63 in the regular season, clinching the AL Central Division title with a 4-2 victory over Detroit.
