Not everyone, but still many, are aware of the popularity of Japanese game franchises Super Smash Bros, The King of Fighters, Soul Calibur and Guilty Gear. There are fighting games that are less heard now, but no one doubts their quality and, in a way, their importance for the genre, for example Killer Instinct. And, perhaps, Dead or Alive can be attributed to the same category, about which many still remember, but no one has seen it for a long time. For understanding, I’ll clarify that I’m not listing the games in the order of their world popularity at the moment, because the same Mortal Kombat, which is very loved in the CIS countries and you can often hear the careless opinion that this is generally the best series of fighting games, in fact, in the world pro-scene, now few people are interested. And, for example, Super Smash Bros (yes, where Mario and Pokemon fight, if it’s easier) still collects ten times more audience attention and, accordingly, prize money for players, plus it has been on the list of the best-selling games in the world for several years, considering it's exclusive to Nintendo consoles. This is an example of the fact that all over the world, the fighting game industry is not supported by the three or four pillars of the genre that we know and love here. I'm speaking in general terms, but get to work! What for some reason is not very popular with us, may be super popular with others. This applies to the Dead or Alive series, which once upon a time was damn successful in Japan and America, they even made a movie based on it and released a whole bunch of spinoffs; but by our time it has become a pale shadow of itself, which is mainly, if remembered, then for past achievements.
