For the purpose of the exams, the steps of translation are as follows. the mRNA attaches to the small subunit of the ribosome tRNA carries specific amino acids to the ribosome the anticodon of the tRNA and codon of mRNA forms hydrogen bonds the ribosome forms peptide bonds between the 2 adjacent amino acids the ribosome moves along the mRNA, translating more codons, and causing the polypeptide chains to elongate translation stops when the ribosome reaches the STOP codon
