Introducing Brother National Educator Barbara Jones Barbara has been sewing since she was able to reach the foot pedal. Growing up in a family of modest means, if she wanted a “wardrobe”, she had to create it. She made all her clothes in high school, including her prom dresses and winter coats. In later years, during her stay at home time with two children, she continued to make custom slipcovers, drapes, and children’s clothing for herself and her neighbors. Moving back into the business world for many years, time was at a minimum and her interests turned to “embellishment” of readymade clothing. Quick and easy but still a dramatic flair. Her first embroidery machine was a Brother 7500 purchased in 1993 and her love for embroidery and Brother Machines began. Being involved in several high schools, colleges, and volunteer organizations, embroidery quickly consumed all her free time. So in early 2002 when the opportunity with Brother presented itself to turn her love for sewing and embroidery into her career, she jumped at the chance.
