KASHMIR beyond Dal Lake & Mughal Gardens

A LOVE AFFAIR WITH KASHMIR Kashmir has always been a special place to me personally. Very few people know that my mom was born and raised here. So that's why this Kashmir trip also had a hidden personal reason - To find my mom's house. Along with that I'll be also revisiting Kashmir's love affair with tea and experience the blend of Kashmiri flavours and English style tea rooms at a cafe named Chai Jai. Like every other tourist or traveller visiting Srinagar, even I'm fascinated by the life on Dal Lake. So while visiting Dal is definitely one of the most unique experiences in Kashmir, the often overlooked Nigeen Lake impressed me with its understated charm. Though I loved taking the shikara ride through the floating markets of Dal, I prefer the tranquility and solitude of Nigeen a bit more.
