Five Minute Histories: Baltimore Immigration Museum
Did you know that between the end of the Civil War and World War I, over a million people first set foot on American soil here in Baltimore? Join us today at the Baltimore Immigration Museum, which used to be Immigrant House, a boarding house for newly arrived immigrants. We are delighted to be joined by Brigitte and Nick Fessenden, two of the co-founders of the museum, to tell us about about it, including its searchable database of over 283,000 people who came to Baltimore between 1830 and 1914. Thanks for watching and see you soon with another video. This is our series called "Five Minute Histories." Every week, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. #baltimore #fiveminhist #immigration #museum
