Are you familiar with the legendary Shakado Pass in Kamakura? Its majestic rocky archway is iconic and a striking feature in Kamakura brochures, but it has long been closed to traffic due to the risk of falling rocks since 1975. From February 26th to March 11th, a portion of the pass near the Omachi side entrance was reopened after repairs were completed. The pass itself is scheduled to open to the public next year. This newly opened section of the ruins offers a breathtaking world of ancient ruins, with its cluster of burial mounds and the sense of timeless history.
