The Leyland Olympian Story: Out of Many Buses, ONE! [UK Bus History]

In the late 1970s, Leyland had several competing bus models all under the same brand - the Atlantean, Fleetline, VRT and the newer Titan. The first three were aging models that were going to need to be replaced, and the Titan was not doing too well. In 1980, Leyland introduced the Olympian, also known as the B45. This bus combined the best of the previous buses, without being overly complicated like the Titan. In 1992, Volvo took over Leyland, but the Olympian continued in production until the year 2000, with the last order being for Singapore Bus Services.
