Episode 1: Chasing 200lb Bluefin Tuna (2 Day Trip with The Islander)

One of my goals for this season was to land a Bluefin Tuna. I was not expecting to land (2) 100 lbers! I went on a trip earlier in the season and didn't land one. It was my first time fly lining and knife jigging and I didn't really understand what to do. This made me really dive into knife jigging to learn how to fish vertically at the right depths. I changed to metered braid (every 100ft) and listened to the captain call out different depths. This allowed me to properly present the jig right where the fish were. On our 3rd stop at 3:30am, I dropped a 420g ‪@NomadTackle‬Glow Pink Streaker 20-30ft past the mark of 360ft, wound about 15 times and got hit on the retrieve. The fight lasted over an hour long. Shoutout to the crew for helping with tangles and the anchor, couldn't have landed it without you guys! The second fish was landed on the kite on the heavy gear and landed it within 15-20 min. The first fish was 115.9lbs and the second was 99.3lbs dressed. This was a trip of a lifetime. Shoutout to the crew for making it unforgettable. Another shoutout to Fisherman's Access for the sponsored trip! I had a great time fishing with this group, the food was some of the best I've ever had and memories that will last a lifetime.
