How Have Beastmen Changed? | Building Warhammer Armies

Beastmen have been in every edition of Warhammer Fantasy, but they didn't originate with the game - they came from an RPG that Games Workshop had the rights to publish, and make miniatures for! RuneQuest introduced the Chaos Broo - goat-like monster men - who were inspired by classical Greek myth. Together fearful folklore of devilish goats and men in the woods this would inspire Warhammer's designers and the Beastmen would evolve into an unnatural counterpart to the Wood Elves. A plague on the peoples of the Old World, and one of the strongest forces of Chaos in the setting. So strong in fact, that they survived the cancellation of the game and found themselves in the Age of Sigmar. For a brief spell, at least.
