Jeep RENEGADE e-Hybrid | LEGGERO come un MILD, efficace come un FULL HYBRID
The Renegade and Compass e-Hybrid offer a unique hybrid driving experience thanks to a specific propulsion system that will also be offered in Alfa Romeo's new TONALE. This powertrain comprises a new 1.5-liter gasoline engine—a T4 turbo with 130 hp and 240 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm—combined with a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission developed in collaboration with Magna. The system integrates a 48-volt, 15 kW electric motor with 135 Nm of maximum torque, drawing energy from a 0.8 kWh, 48-volt water-cooled battery. The system also includes a 48-volt to 12-volt DC/DC converter and a 12-volt Belt Starter Generator that ensures smooth restarting of the engine at low speeds. The new 4-cylinder turbo engine, part of the Global Small Engine family, has been designed to be the most suitable for hybrid use. That's why it operates on the Miller cycle, which offers a high compression ratio (12.5:1) and improves thermal efficiency, thus reducing fuel consumption. Thanks to the e-Hybrid propulsion system, the Renegade and Compass offer a completely new alternative in the two-wheel drive segment. Customers can maintain their driving habits and enjoy a true hybrid experience, with the option of driving in full electric mode, maneuvering, and cruising at low speeds, thanks to the "EV capabilities." Silent Start starts the vehicle without turning on the gasoline engine. Energy Recovery: recharges the batteries during deceleration (e-Coasting) and braking (Regenerative Braking). e-Queuing activates the electric stop & go function when stuck in traffic. e-Launch allows the vehicle to start in electric mode when starting or restarting the vehicle. e-Boosting increases torque to the wheels with the support of the electric motor during acceleration and optimizes the operating point of the gasoline engine (thus reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions) during cruising. e-Creeping allows the vehicle to move with zero emissions at low speeds by simply releasing the brake pedal. e-Parking simplifies parking maneuvers and performs them in EV mode, silently and with zero emissions. Hybrid driving parameters are controlled by the driver through the Hybrid Pages on the infotainment display or through dedicated screens in the instrument panel. Thanks to their high-end technology and software, the Jeep Renegade and Compass e-Hybrid offer a versatile and relaxing driving experience, made even safer by the wide range of advanced driver assistance systems they are equipped with.
