The Allies in the Italian Campaign Part 5: The Allies in Italy: Historical Debates and Collective Memory In collaboration with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, The Allies Museum presented this five-part national conference series, held in Naples, Rome, Florence, and Milan. The series examined the Italian Campaign from the Allied landings in Sicily in 1943 to the liberation of northern Italy in 1945, addressing the military, political, and civilian dimensions of the conflict and its impact on Italian collective memory. The closing session focused on Italy’s living collective memory of the Allied role in the liberation of the country.
